Saguache Warrant Checks
Saguache County publishes no online warrant list. The Town of Saguache and the sheriff offer no dedicated warrant phone line either. A warrant check therefore runs office by office. Gather the exact legal name first. Bring the date of birth if requested, plus the case or citation number, the approximate date, and the issuing agency. Do not send a Social Security number through an unverified channel.
- Read the citation, summons, notice, or case caption. Decide whether it names the Town of Saguache, Saguache County Court, or Saguache District Court.
- For a town ordinance citation, call Town Hall at 719-655-2232 and ask for the municipal-court custodian and latest public docket entry.
- For a county or district case, contact Saguache Combined Court at 719-655-2522 or saguacheclerk@judicial.state.co.us.
- Use the Colorado Judicial Branch docket search to locate a case or setting, remembering that it has no warrant-status filter.
- Call the Saguache County Sheriff at 719-655-2544 for county service, execution, or custody routing.
- Confirm the newest entry with the issuing court and ask what appearance, motion, bond, or compliance step is required.
Saguache Warrant Records Start With the Caption
Saguache names three different things: the town, the county, and the courthouse seat. They are not interchangeable offices. The town's own page shows one corner of this. It warns that certain dog-licensing and at-large violations may bring a citation into Saguache Municipal Court. So a local ordinance forum exists. That fact does not create a searchable warrant roster, an online recall form, or a universal payment counter. Read the caption printed on the document. "Town of Saguache" points to Town Hall first. A Saguache County Court or District Court caption points instead to the Combined Court. A sheriff incident number is thinner still. It may mark an agency record without opening the full court file. Ask each office which record it checked, and when that answer was current.
Useful request: ask for the public docket or register entry showing issuance, service, recall, quash, or disposition in one identified case, plus any current appearance instruction.

Town Hall keeps the municipal ordinance records. The Combined Court holds the state County and District Court files for Saguache. The sheriff enforces warrants across the county but cannot stand in for the issuing court's record. Town Hall posts seasonal hour changes, so call first.
Saguache Warrant Travel Needs a Phone-First Plan
Saguache is the county seat, so the main state court and the sheriff both sit in one town. Three doors still carry three addresses. Town Hall sits on San Juan Avenue. The Combined Court sits at 501 4th Street, and the sheriff at 530 5th Street. You can reach the right town and still stand at the wrong counter. Custody is the bigger trap. The sheriff's own page says Saguache County inmates are held by Rio Grande County in Del Norte. A person can be detained there while the case file stays with the issuing Saguache court. So call before driving. Ask who holds the court file, where bond paperwork and payment are processed, whether a hearing is remote, and which detention staff can answer a custody question. Proximity and a posted hearing time guarantee nothing. Neither one promises same-day recall or release.
One phone call can sort four tasks. Get the court record itself. Learn the judge's current instruction. Then confirm law-enforcement status and find where a person in custody is held. The Combined Court answers for its own file, and the sheriff routes county enforcement questions. Rio Grande County detention may hold the person, but the underlying Saguache warrant record stays with the Saguache court. Town Hall comes first only for a Town of Saguache ordinance matter. Write down which office answered each question and the date. Seasonal hours give one more reason to call ahead; ask whether records can be requested by email, whether identification is required, and whether an appearance must be scheduled. When a district event is advertised in Alamosa, confirm it covers the specific Saguache case before leaving the county.
Warrants in Saguache: The Main Types
Colorado uses a handful of warrant terms. Arrest warrant, bench warrant, and warrant for failure to appear each point to a different issuing authority and route in Saguache.
| Type | Typical basis | First record source |
|---|---|---|
| Municipal bench warrant | Missed town-ordinance setting or failure to comply | Saguache municipal custodian |
| State bench warrant | Missed County or District Court duty | Saguache Combined Court |
| Arrest warrant | Judicial finding based on a sworn probable-cause showing | Issuing state court |
| Traffic bench warrant | Failure to appear or comply in a qualifying traffic case | Court named on the citation |
| Search warrant | Authority to search rather than proof of arrest status | Access may be restricted |
Where a person lives in Saguache does not decide which court issued the warrant. Read the case caption first. And leave another state's "capias pro fine" wording out of a Colorado request.
Saguache Municipal Warrants Follow the Citation
The town page points to one real forum. Its reference to citations into Saguache Municipal Court shows why a broad county search can miss the municipal file. Was the inquiry started by a dog-license, animal-at-large, or other town-code citation? Then call Town Hall. Ask who keeps the citation. Ask whether a public docket exists and which paper states current status. Not every citation produces a warrant. Request the full sequence. That means citation date, scheduled appearance, any failure-to-appear entry, the judicial warrant order, any later recall, and the disposition. Then ask whether a motion, a new setting, payment, proof of compliance, or a filing by counsel is required. The town runs no live warrant portal, bond window, or online recall form. Nor does it promise that an unscheduled appearance avoids arrest.
Saguache Warrant Records: What They Show
Saguache publishes no person-level warrant list. A record the court does release may show some, but not all, of these fields.
| Case identifier | Court, year, case class, and sequence, such as court-year-class-number; no municipal format is promised. |
|---|---|
| Party information | Name and limited identifiers, subject to redaction. |
| Warrant event | Type, issue date, triggering event, and issuing judicial officer when public. |
| Conditions | Public bond, appearance, or compliance direction. |
| Operational event | Receipt, service, return, or execution when maintained and releasable. |
| Later status | Recall, quash, satisfaction, or disposition entry and its date. |
An old issue entry proves little. It does not show whether a warrant is still active, so request the most recent register of action and confirm that court and agency systems reflect any later order.
Saguache Warrant Requests Can Use the State Form
When the caption points to the Combined Court, one route works statewide: the Colorado record/document request form. It takes a case number, case type, filing year, county or location, date of birth, and party name. There is no warrant-copy checkbox. Instead, use the Register of Action selection or the "Other" field to describe the warrant entry, recall, or event you need in Saguache. The form posts its fees plainly. Pages run $0.25 each, a name search costs $5, and a certified or exemplified document runs $20. Off-site retrieval is billed at actual cost, and research or redaction past the first hour carries charges too. Expect an answer within three business days unless circumstances prevent it. Confirm current fees before ordering. Protected, suppressed, juvenile, or probate-related material may require identification or may not be released at all. This state form is not a municipal request to Town Hall. It also is not the route for a Saguache criminal-justice-records request to the sheriff. For that, call the sheriff's main line and ask which custodian accepts a focused written request.
Saguache Warrants and Saguache County
A municipal matter remains distinct from a County or District Court case even though town and county share a name. The practical flow is: Saguache Municipal Court or Saguache Combined Court issues process › the appropriate police or sheriff agency receives it › the issuing court records service, return, recall, or disposition. Colorado law-enforcement systems are not one public statewide warrant-search product.
County Court in Saguache handles misdemeanors, traffic infractions, felony complaints, protection orders, and other lower-level matters. District Court takes felonies and broader case classes. Both routes run locally through the Combined Court. For the wider system map, see the Saguache County warrant records guide; this page sticks to the right counter.
Saguache Warrant Hearings May Point to Alamosa
The 12th Judicial District covers Saguache plus five neighboring counties. Its official Saguache weekday bond schedule lists Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:30 PM in the district advisement WebEx room. The weekend Bond Hearing Office page lists Saguache on Sunday from 11:15 AM to noon. These are hearing schedules only. They are not surrender hours, and they do not promise that bond can be paid at a given building. District events can also land outside Saguache. An official 2025 notice described Warrant Clearance Day in Alamosa, and the current court page shows an October 1, 2026 Legal Resource Day with a warrant-clearance component at the Alamosa County Justice Center. That is not a standing Saguache amnesty program. Before relying on any event, verify the date, the eligible court and warrant types, identification requirements, registration, and whether it applies to your case.
Do not assume “walk in and clear it.” Ask whether counsel should file first, whether a recall or quash motion is required, whether bond is set, and where the appearance occurs.
Accessing Saguache Warrant Records
Access to Saguache warrant records depends on the custodian and any restriction that applies. Court files, municipal administrative records, and sheriff operational records follow different rules. A public record is not always posted online. An inspectable entry may not show present status.
Colorado access framework: the Colorado Open Records Act governs many public records, criminal-justice-record provisions address law-enforcement material, and court rules govern judicial records. Juvenile, sealed, suppressed, protected, identifying, and active-investigation material may be withheld or redacted.
Keep any Saguache request narrow and tied to one file. Ask for the segregable public portions plus the legal basis for anything withheld. Official court guidance warns that web information may be incomplete. A blank docket result can stem from spelling, dates, the wrong courthouse, division, timing, or access limits; it is not a clearance certificate.
Confirm a Saguache Warrant After Action
Finishing a step described by phone does not end a Saguache warrant matter. After an appearance, filing, payment, bond action, or compliance submission, ask the issuing court for a dated entry showing the judge's order. If the court says the warrant was recalled or quashed, ask when law enforcement received that change and whether another check is needed.
- Issued
- The court signed or entered the warrant.
- Executed
- A peace officer acted under it.
- Recalled or quashed
- The court withdrew its operative effect.
- Register of Action
- The chronological case history.
Write down the office, date, time, and source checked. If court and agency answers differ, return to the newest written order. Ask how Saguache officials synchronize the records. Commercial people-search data cannot supply the issuing court's current instruction and should not replace official verification.
